Visible is a digital-only wireless service. I developed their illustration style, built around the brand’s central graphic element, the emoticon. I broke each smiley, kissy face, and ":o" into simple shapes, using these as a basis for a more expressive visual language.

I initially sketched out each illustration by hand, thinking up hundreds of unexpected ways emoticon-based shapes could be combined with freeform doodles to depict various aspects of wireless service. They were designed with motion in mind, and used across socials, web, and app.

We worked alongside acclaimed animation studio BUCK to create a series of TV spots using this illustration style, which introduced larger environments, individualized characters, and more complex narratives while still retaining the spirit of my art direction.
